Neatline is built to work entirely on your device. It has no account, no servers of ours, and no analytics or tracking. We do not collect your personal data.
Everything you create and load in Neatline lives only on your iPhone:
None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. We have no server that receives it, and Neatline does not create an account or profile.
Neatline uses your location to plot your position on your maps, to tag waypoints, and — if you start a recording — to log a track (including while your phone is locked, if you allow “Always”). Your location is processed on your device and is not transmitted to us. You can turn location access off at any time in the iOS Settings app.
Two features fetch map imagery over the internet when you use them:
To draw these, Neatline requests map tiles for the area you are viewing directly from the map providers — the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), OpenStreetMap, and their tile hosts. Those requests necessarily reveal the approximate map area being viewed to the provider, and are subject to that provider’s own privacy practices. Neatline sends only what is needed to fetch the tiles; it does not attach your identity, and it keeps no account with these providers. If you never use these features, no such requests are made.
Neatline contains no advertising, no analytics, and no third‑party tracking SDKs. It does not use the Advertising Identifier and does not track you across apps or websites.
Neatline is a general‑audience mapping tool and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
